Pier 25 Marina is looking for dock hands for the remaining 2024 season!  Qualified applicants must have weekend and evening availability through the end of October.

Pier 25 Marina, in the heart of Tribeca in New York City, is looking for great dock hands for its summer season. Dock hands will primarily be responsible for assisting customers with the arrival and departure of vessels, operating dinghies, tending to customer requests including charter bookings and sailing school inquiries, and acting as an ambassador for Pier 25.

• Assist with lines and fenders during marina arrivals and departures
• Complete daily reports and checklists as required
• Comply with Company safety plan and standards as set forth in training materials
• Ensure proper cleaning of boats, lines, covers, and other items as needed
• Exercise sound judgement taking into account safety, customer needs, and environmental factors
• Interact with guests with positivity and composure in all circumstances
• Maintain Marina facilities, dinghys, and technology
• Report to work in a neat and clean uniform; maintain well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policy
• Uphold established culture and values of Company

• Ability to swim
• Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods of time as required to perform essential job functions
• Able to lift 30+ lbs.
• Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
• CPR certification is a plus
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Experience with boat handling and knowledge of nautical terminology
• General knowledge of industry safety standards and procedures
• Must love sunsets
• Nautical line handling skills including the ability to tie bowline, half hitch knots, toss and cleat lines
• Willingness to work in outdoor climate conditions
